Tim Carroll

Independent Non-Executive Chairman

Tim Carroll joined the Board in March 2011 and was appointed Chairman in June 2013. He is a renowned international business leader, with significant London Market and Lloyd's experience, including roles as CEO of Swiss Re's UK holding company, CEO Europe of GE Insurance Solutions and US President and CEO of GE Reinsurance Inc. He currently holds a number of independent non-executive directorships within the UK insurance industry. Tim has held a number of high-profile industry positions, including President of the Insurance Institute of London. He received the Chartered Insurance Institute's medal for distinguished service in 2008.

Stephen Baxter

Chief Financial Officer

Stephen has been the Chief Financial Officer of Tawa Associates Limited since 2014 and Financial Controller and then Treasurer of CX Reinsurance Company Limited since 1998. He was appointed to the Board of ACHP plc in 2017. He has responsibility for all aspects of financial strategy, operations and reporting of the Tawa Associates group and ACHP plc. Previously, he worked for PwC and Ernest & Young specialising in London Market insurance clients and projects.

Gilles Erulin

Chief Executive Officer

Gilles has been Global Head of Insurance for Groupe Artémis since 2000 and previously headed its Mergers and Acquisitions Group. He was responsible for the creation in 2001 of Tawa. Gilles managed the acquisition of Aoba (Japan) by Groupe Artémis, the first life-insurance company ever acquired 100 per cent by overseas investors in Japan, and supervised that company's run-off strategy from 1999. He managed the sale of Aoba (Japan) in September 2004 to Prudential Life of Japan. Among numerous other transactions within the Financière Pinault group, Gilles also managed the takeover of Christie's International Plc, which involved the raising of £780 million of financing. He was appointed to the Board of Pro plc in April 2001.

Marvin Mohn

General Counsel

Marvin joined the Board in 2017. He joined the company in 2001 as one of the founding shareholders and has served as the company's general counsel since 2007. He has previously served as the chief executive officer of the company's former subsidiaries, PXRE Reinsurance Company Limited and Lincoln General Insurance Company, and presently serves as a director of CX Reinsurance Company Limited, Island Capital Limited, Asta Capital Limited, and Asta Managing Agency Limited. Marvin is a member of the California bar and a qualified English solicitor.

Héloïse Temple-Boyer


Héloïse has been Deputy CEO of Artémis since February 2018. She joined Artemis in 2013 as an Investment Director. Prior to that, she started her career in finance, firstly in investment banking at Rothschild & Cie from 2002 to 2005, then in private equity at Advent International from 2005 to 2007. Until 2013, she then held various positions within Groupe Casino (special advisor to the CEO, VP International Purchasing). Héloïse graduated from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (class of 1998), from ESSEC (class of 2001) and from the Harvard Business School (class of 2009).
